Your Web Page Builder Tool:
You will find your Web Page Bilder in your cPanel (Control Panel) at:
When the File Manager window comes up, you will see something like the image below. Don't be concerned about all the strange-looking files and folders there, there is one, and only one, folder that you should ever open: the "public_html" folder. This folder is where all the files and images for your web site must reside. Unless you really know what you are doing, leave all the other files on this page alone... or you may end up with a broken site. Go ahead and click on the "public_html" folder icon (Not the folder name): ![]()
However, the only option we are concerned with now is the HTML Editor, shown by the red arrow below. Go ahead and click on it in your browser window. ![]() The PageBilder HTML editor should look like the example below, albeit not as scrunched up as we had to make it so it would show well on this page. This is a very handy tool for the beginner webmaster, who knows little or nothing about coding in HTML. Each of the little icons does a particular job for you, from inserting images and text, to simple or fairly complex table design. The best way to learn is simply to play around with it until you achieve some familiarity and skill. This first window will display the Design view; to see the HTML code generated automatically for you, scroll down to the next image. ![]() Clicking the "Html Code" tab at the bottom of the editor will give you the display shown here. By often referring to your generated HTML code, you will soon find that you are becoming familiar with how it all works. Now, scroll on down the our last image. ![]() Choosing the "Preview" tab as you go along, will give you a look at exactly how your web page will look to the public. To make changes or additions, just use the Design tab to take you back to the Design window, and continue building your site! And most importantly, have fun!! ![]() We hope you find our PageBilder helpful. While teaching you how to use it is not a part of Support, if you get seriously stumped on something, you can make out a support ticket and if one of our techs has some free time, they will usually help you out... but don't make it a high priority ticket, or the tech may not be in a good mood ;) You may also want to visit our sister site, where we offer free, no strings, no gimmicks HTML, CSS and JavaScript tutorials, among others. And if you you are security conscious, try our spyware info site. And finally, if you just don't have the time to mess with it all, try our professional Web Design site. Best of luck with your venture! (Note: These are pop-up windows. You must disable any pop-up blockers, and have JavaScript enabled.) |
